Lyrics
Im feeling young uninterrupted, ill make my way
Im in touch with nature interpret, every little thing that I say
Im feeling cold and unashamed, pipe dreams got me feeling lonely
Need an escape, so tell me is this love I think im getting hungry
Im feeling down from the lusting, this heavy plate you set and I ate
Im getting lit off the process/ Anything you say
I ate, I ate, I chew
I spit my spoiled food
I ate, I ate, I chew
I spit my spoiled food
Hiding like its left, right, up, down, in the tuck
I dont answer questions cuz it’s not my time to talk
Cant believe we made it this far with our hearts/ Attention to the start/ the start controls the stop
I think I’m looking for the change/ I think Im needing some more substance/ They put dilemmas on my plate/ I think im needing some more substance, substance
I ate, I ate, I chew
I spit my spoiled food
I ate, I ate, I chew
I spit my spoiled food
Sip of Sake/ We work all day all day/ To waste our nights all nights/ pick your fight your fight
Sip of Sake/ Id make some more some more/Id do some more some more/ Try going overshores
I ate, I ate, I chew
I spit my spoiled food
I ate, I ate, I chew
I spit my spoiled food
I think I’m looking for the change/ I think i’m needing some more substance/ They put dilemmas on my plate/ I think i’m needing some more substance, substance

My stress at this career, and these games.

Im basically trying to reclaim myself here. I feel like I had been consuming so much “food” or “clutter” or, all these “sayings sounding all the same”- that at this point in the project, I have finally found my autonomy and ability to decipher between what is substance and spoiled food.

When I wrote this I was thinking about one of my favorite songs of all time-“Ultralight Beam” by Kanye West. The moment of the song where Chance says “this is my time nobody else speak” really resonated with me the first time I heard it. I love this lyric because of it’s command and the way the one line can mean so many different things so I tried to embody that here in the reverse. In my story here, I wanted to embrace restraint and hold my tongue because it’s someone else’s turn.
